Josephine Gordijn exhibition at the Goliath Boetiek
The Goliath Boetiek has started to exhibit exciting work by emerging and established artists. The artist’s work is being selected and curated by the Bob Smit Gallery. The first exhibition features the work of Josephine Gordijn and is currently on display in the Boetiek until the 17th of October.
Josephine Gordijn studies at the Art Academy in Berlin, where she focuses on making collages. Initially she made digital collages, but was soon drawn to working with real materials. By collecting and re-using pictures from old magazines and books to create a new narrative, Josephine’s work juxtaposes an often sinister and macabre content with form, resulting in highly decorative and attractive layered images.

Straight after the Bread & Butter, Goliath held court at the Modefabriek in Amsterdam!
All we can say is the whole event went down smoothly. Partly because of our new collection and partly caused by the excellent smoothies and cocktails served at our booth.

Bob's sculpture
For the duration of the Bread & Butter fair our resident artist Bob Smit could be found immersed in piles of packaging.
When this sculpture comprising of a leg attached to a chair emerged we had to wonder why. Bob’s response was that everybody wears shoes, they use and abuse them, and eventually even a shoe needs to put its feet up. After three long days on our feet we felt we really understood!

Sundek

These board shorts, carrying the renowned rainbow on the back, have been the favourite of generations of youngsters, making them one of the most widely distributed surf shorts on the market. Like Goliath, they were once used primarily for sportswear, but have since become a beachwear classic.

Goliath has collaborated with Italian color designer Matteo Denti, owner of a high-end trainer store in the famous Quadrilatero d'Oro (Golden Triangle) in Milan.The unique characteristic of the Matteo Denti Ovals is their inventive combinations of colour that are lively, summery and cheerful.

Now open Goliath Boetiek
During the ‘Wereld van Witte de With’ festival on the 13th of September 2008 the first ever Goliath Boetiek opened its doors. The Goliath Boetiek is situated in the dynamic and artistic Witte de With street in Rotterdam.
Apart from a show by the band Le Marquis there were also a group of cricketers doing a showcase game, displaying the sport in which Goliath has its roots.
